New Traveller Campaign

So for the last two weeks i have being in the middle of character Generation for a Game played using the new Traveller from Mongoose Publishing. This was an interesting experience, and i think the most important lesson is that one main book is not enough. But then i knew that one book is always going to be slow for character generation.

Last night we fleshed out the characters possessions, weapons etc. I also organised the Mortgage for the ship that they have purchased, a ship which i found on the Internet, via the Mongoose Forums.

Anyway, a couple of months back i posted something to Direweseal about using the Internet in your game. So i feel that this is a good oppurtunity to try out some of the tips i was talking about.

For example after we got finshed with characther Gen, we got into the trading aspects. This is something i plan to try and do off camera, with the player who is the ship purser (and steward) via E-mails and the likes, but i wanted to do it at least once with the player. Now as a part of the game it could easily take up to an hour of discussing things and trying things, however a few e-mails, can sort a lot of that out, which means the stuff in the game is just the important stuff, the Adventure.

Another plan of mine is to post some info about each world here, starting with the players home worlds. Of course this will be limited in stuff that is part of the normal Traveller universe, as a lot of that stuff is copyrighted. But we will see how it goes.

anyway, keep an eye out, as the players home-worlds will probably start trickling down over the next week, probably starting on Monday, and one a day through till next Thursday.

I will also start putting up relevent background info, but that will be a while yet, I need to surprise the players with it first, and at least two of them are watching this feed!!!
